Prop Gen with 3D Props

With Prop Gen you can create and import most any 3D prop with just a simple text prompt directly in Previs Pro.

Below is a shot of two women chatting at a restaurant. Let's give them a bottle of wine to share.

First, select the pencil icon in the top right corner.

Next, in the Add Objects menu, select Prop

In the Add Prop menu, select Create Custom

Enter a description of the prop that you want. Be as descriptive as possible while avoiding famous persons, trademarks, obscenities or other use cases that may be prohibited by AI models.

Our Text Prompt was "an elegant green glass bottle of Pinot Noir wine with a label in French"

You might need to experiment with different text prompts to find your perfect image. We're in the early days of Generative AI so don't expect complete perfection yet. The technology will only improve.

Previs Pro will generate and automatically download your prop.

In this view, you can resize and rotate your prop before placing it in your shot.

  1. Here, you might see a triangle with a warning message about the complexity of your prop. The more complicated your prop, the harder it might be to generate clearly. In most cases, you can confidently ignore this message. Or, you can cancel and try using a more straightforward prompt.
  2. These arrows show the prop's forward direction, although you can always rotate it within the shot.
  3. These arrows move the prop up or down. If you have a flower, you want to plant in the ground or a boat you want to show partially underwater, then you want to move that prop "down" so the bottom part is obscured. Once you save the prop, it will only appear in your shot with this new shape. In most cases, you'll need to make no changes if you want the entire prop to be visible.
  4. This tool allows you to rotate your prop 360 degrees to ensure it's what you want. You can also rotate it in your shot.

Once you're happy with your prop, press Done and the prop will automatically be saved into your shot. In the example below, the new wine bottle prop was placed directly on the ground.

No matter. Like every other prop, camera, characters, and light elements you can move the prop within the shot.

The prop is automatically added into your Prop Library for later use in your project.

Since we can't expect them to drink directly from the bottle, we also created a wine glass, duplicated it, and added them to the table.

Although this is entirely optional, we used Style Grading to upgrade the shot.
